We are a Birmingham, Alabama based healthcare management company in search of an In-office Client Account Representative. The Client Account Representative duties may include one or more of the following: processing insurance payments, following up on denied claims, and resolving credit balances. This is an in-office position.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Processes the insurance component of a patient's obligation through claims processing and payment rules.
- Bills claims appropriately.
- Follows up on denied claims by performing appeals and denial recovery procedures.
- Works denied claim lines and no response claims to resolve outstanding accounts.
- Analyzes credit balances on patient accounts and resolves.
- Insurance verification.
- Medisys and Mextgen experience.
- Responds to refund request letters from insurance carriers.
- Notify supervisor of any problem accounts, CPT codes being denied by specific insurance companies, continued error in charges and any other hindrance to their productivity or collection of A/R.
- Compliance is a condition of employment and is considered an element of job performance.
- Maintain HIPAA confidentiality.

- Provide excellent customer service through phone calls and emails.
- High level of time management and organizational skills.
- End of the month report generation and list of all accounts not worked.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Required).
- Associate degree (Preferred).
Experience:
- At least five years experience preferred.
- Medical background or previous insurance billing desired.
- Medisys and Nextgen preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
- Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot/leg and hand/arm movements.
- Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
- Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication.
- Frequent keyboard use/data entry.
- Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
- Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 10 -25 lbs.
Job Type: Full-time In-Office.
