Position Summary:
Our rheumatology clinic is looking for a skilled Infusion Technician to join our team in Opelika, AL. The infusion technician will support the administration of infusion therapies for patients with rheumatologic conditions. This role works closely with our providers and nursing staff to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care throughout the infusion process. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented, patient-focused, and has experience with infusions in a rheumatology setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare the infusion room and equipment prior to patient appointments.
  • Administer intramuscular injections. 
  • Assist clinical staff with infusion setup, including IV preparation support (within scope).
  • Monitor patients during infusions and promptly report any adverse reactions to the nursing staff.
  • Record patient information, vitals, and treatment updates accurately in the EMR.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant infusion environment.
  • Manage inventory of infusion supplies and notify leadership of shortages.
  • Assist with patient scheduling coordination and flow within the infusion suite.
  • Provide excellent patient care and support, ensuring a comfortable experience.
  • Follow all safety, infection control, and HIPAA compliance guidelines.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, CCMA), or relevant clinical experience preferred.
  • Previous experience in infusion therapy, rheumatology, or specialty clinic preferred.
  • Experience with EMR systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks) preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and patient service skills.
