We are a Birmingham-based healthcare management company seeking a Healthcare Client Account Representative to support our Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) team. This role is ideal for someone with experience in medical billing, insurance claims, revenue cycle management, or healthcare administration who enjoys problem-solving and helping healthcare practices succeed.
What You'll Do:
- Submit and process medical insurance claims accurately and timely.
- Follow up on denied, underpaid, and outstanding claims.
- Prepare and submit claim appeals when necessary.
- Post insurance payments and reconcile account balances.
- Research and resolve credit balances and refund requests.
- Communicate with insurance carriers regarding billing and reimbursement issues.
- Maintain accurate patient demographics and account information.
- Provide exceptional customer service via phone and email.
- Generate reports and document account activity as needed.
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and confidentiality standards.
- Collaborate with team members to improve reimbursement outcomes.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Provide excellent customer service through phone calls and emails.
- High level of time management and organizational skills.
- End-of-the-month report generation and list of all accounts not worked.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Medical billing, claims processing, insurance follow-up, or healthcare administrative experience.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of medical billing, claims processing, or revenue cycle management experience.
- Experience with insurance appeals and denial management.
- Experience using EMR Systems such as NextGen and Epic.
- Workers' compensation billing experience.
- Associate degree or higher.
